Hey Yall

This week was a great week!
Its crazy i have 3 weeks left and then i am done being trained and who
knows what i will be doing after this!
Anyways its been super cold here for the past couple of days! but now
it is supposed to get hot which i am not excited for.

I had my first... i dont know what to really call it. But my companion
and i were tracting in this neighborhood and we came to this house i
knocked on it. And a middle aged man came and opened the door and then
shut it to talk to us on the porch. He told us that he had just gotten
back from utah not to long ago from salt lake and thought the mormon
religion was so interesting! He said we were great people but doctrine
wise we were not going to agree on anything. We asked him if there was
anything we could help him understand and he said hold on let me go
get a book. So we waited, then he came back and said actually why dont
you come on in i have a friend that wants to talk to you. I thought oh
my gosh what were we getting ourselves into! We walked into the living
room where his friend and older man and his wife were sitting, we sat
down and he started to ask us questions. And we were answering them
then he went off on this huge tangent about how we need to center our
religion around christ and that we need to not believe in the book of
mormon, that we need to judge the book according to the bible he was
reading scriptures with us and this went on for almost an hour.
Finally he said that he wanted to leave us with a prayer. and he
prayed that we could open our eyes and find the truth all this other
stuff. It was crazy! i was speachless after that and i just bore my
testimony and left! haha it was funny.

But we did find this family. Who just moved in a couple of doors down
from us. and we taught them and they were so interested ( expect the
dad ) but the mom and the two kids (13 and 9) really wanted to read
the book of mormon and we commited them to a baptismal date! its so
exciting when you find people who are ready and want to learn more!

We also are teaching a guy named Lee from china. ( there are a lot of
asians that go to UTA ) but he has no religious backround so its hard
to teach him! I never thought i would be teaching someone in texas who
did not even know who Jesus was! so im working on teaching people not
lessons.

The work is going awesome! and im really happy when i get to help
people learn and grow! Im used to tracting and talking to people. Its
still hard when people tell me that their good in their faith and dont
want to learn more. ugh if they only knew!
Until next week!

Love you all!
Elder Boettcher
