HEY YALL!
Well its been a journey this past week with my new trainee! Its been fun i really have enjoyed it so far to be honest. its been a little hard and i find myself talking to my heavenly father and asking for help because i sometimes struggle with doing what i need to do to be a good trainer and make the work increase here in the Euless 1st ward. Its a little difficult whitewashing, not going to lie. We have been busy tracking down former investigators and visiting less actives and members to get more comfortable with the area. I am focusing this transfer on building relationships with the members and building up our teaching pool. I have a good feeling about this companionship and our work here in this ward.
We have been studying preach my gospel every morning practicing contacting and finding ideas, so we are just going to stick to pmg and i think we will do good work!
i got my new companion on wed!!! his name is elder calvin and he is fromo kaysville utah, and he is a good elder!
Its funny because he is different then me, he is super smart and love science. he is 18 and has a girlfriend ( that he likes to brag about...... ) but im over it! He is doing great though, i feel bad because we havent had any big opportunities to teach together, and thats all he wants to do. which is great! he really is excited for the work and has a lot of faith which is great because i sometimes tend to be more realistic and i hate doing that, so he is teaching me to be more faithful and i need that! its funny because he reminds me of myself when i came out because he doesnt want to tract and things like that, but im gonna put him to work this week! Ive missed bossing someone around :) its like i have a little brother!
Our area is good, i mean we dont have a huge teaching pool yet, but there are great members that are excited to help with the missionary work and there are some great people here. i am excited for this week because i have a good feeling that we will find people and baptize one of them! we are just going to go to work! i know its gonna be hot, im already sick of the heat and its only may!
i found this quote that i really love and that i would share.
the past is behind: learn from it
the future is ahead: prepare for it
the present is here: live in it!
- thomas s monson
opening this new area we are taking it one day at a time! i thought that quote fit in really well!
I love and miss you all!
