:) Easter Weekend!
April 21, 2014
Hey Y'all,
Wow what a wonderful weekend it has been.
First off, I really love this Easter time and in my studies i was studying all about the atonement and Resurrection of Christ. It meant a whole lot more to me when i woke up on Friday and Sunday knowing that he was crucified for me and then rose again for me. I LOVE the #becauseofHim video and have watched it like everyday this week i swear! It makes me tear up!
Second reason why this Easter weekend was amazing is because I finally got to help someone enter into the covenant of baptism. And it was amazing. He actually asked me to baptize him and i felt so nervous and unworthy to do something so special. I spent a week praying about it and making sure it was something i should do. And as i did that i felt this warmth and peace, and felt like it was what needed to be done. I was so honored and happy to do it for him. It really was a spiritual experience. He was part of a part member family so the next step is to get them sealed in the temple and that is a goal they have! It made me so happy to see him make that decision. I hope that we can help someone else do the same.
Awkwardly enough after i baptized him i forgot to let the water drain and did not realize it until i was already changed into my suit! So after the closing prayer and everyone left i had to change back into my wet clothes and get back into the font to drain the water. the worst part about this story is that i spent about 15 mins trying to unplug the dang thing ( its not like a regular plug to drain its this one you step on to make it drain ) anyway it apparently was broken, so the missionaries and a couple other people were watching me mess with it for a good while.
Then on Easter Sunday we got to confirm our baptism and that was awesome he really enjoyed it and it was a big turn out because of Easter so he got to see the support from the whole ward when we welcomed him into the ward.
Needless to say that this week went really well. I also got my new companion elder wixom from west valley city Utah and he seems like a real nice guy. the first week of a new companionship has always been a little awkward to me as you are trying to get to know each other and how to teach with each other. I hope we get to know each other better and have a good transfer together.
We were busy this week teaching a lot. Its fun to teach and i like it. We are actually starting a scripture study class this Thursday in hopes that we find new investigators through it. We continue to work with the members and hope that this scripture study class helps them with their missionary work. I love the members of this ward and hope that i will be able to work with them a little closer.
Love and miss yall thank you for the prayers
