Hey Y'all!

November 12, 2013

Hey yall,

Well some bad news this week, our investigator C. who was doing really awesome in learning about the gospel and reading the book of Mormon moved out of Texas! dang it!
it was sad when she told us that, then on Friday she had us over for dinner. and we made homemade pizza together and taught her more about the church, it was really fun! but i am sad she had to leave! its weird how much love you can have for someone you just meet and want to help them have a better life and become who i know they can become. So it was a sad goodbye but at the same time she is going to a better place where there is a church nearby and she told us the missionaries are welcomed to stop by there as well!

I know the Lord is mindful of all of us, so he wasn't going to let C. go without a new person to teach!

We got a referral from the MTC for a lady named T. who's sister is LDS and lives in Utah! And we went over and were able to teach her the first lesson! she is an amazing lady. She told us that she LOVES the churches views on family and wishes nothing more then her family to have the same values as the LDS church. She actually grew up by some members here in Texas and admires them a lot. I just love it when members are such a great example to the people around them. So also expressed to us that she really does want to know if the LDS church is true or not, she has been searching for a " true " church and hasn't found one yet.
It was really fun to teach her and we are going to visit her this week to see if she read and prayed. I love it when we find people that are really wanting to know and not just interested in the church for a trivial sense.

Its getting cold here in Texas believe it or not! it was 50 degrees this morning and it was nasty! im just walking around in white short sleeve and everyone else in Texas has their huge winter coats on! haha they crack me up.

We did a lot of service this week. which is fun i got to help cut down a tree! the random things you do as a missionary.

We learned a lot about prophets this sunday and i just knew for sure that thomas s monson is our prophet today! i was watching some of his old talks and he is a great man!

well i dont have to much time today so sorry its short! hope everyone has a great week!

Love and miss yall

  1. Happy Thanksgiving Elder!! I am so happy to get these posts so I can read all your marvelous Mission and how well you are doing.
Gosh, it makes me so sad we do not have the SPECTACULAR Boettcher family in our ward anymore. I miss you all more than I can say.
It sounds like you are doing so well honey. I am so proud of you and all your accomplishments. You have exceeded them all.
I don't know how this works. If you will come home and speak in our ward or if you will fly home to your family. I am hoping to see you before you fly home.
Well today is turkey day so I need to get busy. I have plenty to be thankful for this year. I love my family and I love this wonderful gospel of ours.
Stay safe and keep on with the great work of the Lord you are doing.
    Much love,
    Cathy Ford
