Crazy Week in Texas

August 6, 2013

Hey yall!

Wow i cannot even begin to explain the week, this week has easily been the craziest week of my mission so far i think!

It started off when we got a call that one of our tongan members had died from a car crash. It was our relief society president's son. who just signed to play for the u of u. And two other tongans from the tongan wards passed as well. It was hard on the community. there were so many memorials and fund raising going on. It was great because the funeral and viewing this weekend was full of happiness because of the knowledge of the plan of salvation. The mom was such an example to everyone, people would not stop talking about how much of a rock she has been through all of this. she smiled during the funeral and laughed a lot during the lunch in that we helped out with.  And at the funeral she basically told everyone that if you have questions why we are so happy talk to the missionaries.
This past week has been such a testimony builder to me, even the parents of the other kids who died are only converts to the church of two years! and they were just as solid. but it was a little sad because one of their sons was not a member and the family was sealed last year.
it just made me so grateful for everything i know about life and the plan of salvation. We have spent so many hours this week at the church for a funeral and viewings.

Then on thursday my companion had to go home because of family matters but he will be back out shortly. so i had to move in with the elders that serve in the tongan wards! and its funny because both of the elders that serve in the tongan wards are from Orem! so now its an Orem trio!! its fun because i like these elders a lot, and one of them ( Elder Hyde ) knows a lot of orem people because he went to Orem High. so its been fun.

but working in the tongan wards are crazy we are so busy visiting members and trying to find tongans to teach, and at the same time cover my ward!
on wednesday ill be getting a new companion so ill be in Euless for another 6 weeks! im excited because i like euless a lot and  have a feeling good things will happen with my new companions.

yesterday i went to both tongan wards and it was so crazy. i think its safe to say that Polynesians are great members to the church. and they are great at singing! it was just hard because it was all in tongan i did not understand anything during sacrament meeting! haha but it was very spiritual. and i went to two eatings, where they talked about their missionary work and how they are going to find more people for the missionaries to teach. they are great members.

its been really hectic and being in a trio is hard because its weird. but im excited for my new companion. im ready for things to pick up and slow down the craziness. i cannot believe that it is already august! im just happy its not as hot as it was last year!

i leave you all with the scripture the was read during the funeral.

D & C 82 : 10
I the Lord am bound when ye do what i say; but when you do not what i say, ye have no promise.

If we do all that is asked of us and our very best and then the lord will bless us and we will be able to live with our families forever!

love you all!
